This comprehensive training programme covers the basic bookkeeping terms and concepts. This also shows how to deal with basic bookkeeping documents and how to use them in a manual accounting system.

Target Learners

This course has been designed for learners who are required to work with accounts, and who have had little or no exposure to bookkeeping.

This module will focus on the fundamentals of bookkeeping for each of the following topics:

  • Bookkeeping Introduction
  • Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Source Documents
  • Inventory
  • Subsidiary Journals and the Cashbook
  • The General Ledger
  • The Trial Balance
  • The Statement of Income
  • The Statement of Financial Position
  • Bank Reconciliation
Assessment

The assessment is mandatory and forms part of the course. Assessments are offered in English and are completed online. This means that you can write the assessment in the comfort of your own home (as long as you have a computer with reliable internet access).

Results: Will be issued directly after the assessment has ended.

Certificates: A Certificate will be emailed to the student directly after the assessment if the examination was passed.

Competency percentage: 75%
